ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Leviya and I write and make videos about basketball, fandom, identity, the internet, and so much more. I live in central New Jersey (which is real!) with my little orange cat named Tango.I graduated from American University with a bachelor's in Communications in 2024, and I recently graduated with my master's degree in Media, Culture, and Communications from NYU.I've been writing professionally for the past six years, though I'd say I've been a writer ever since I first learned how to string a sentence together. My work is thoughtful and eclectic, and I love connecting the dots in the ways you'd least expect.I'm currently working on a book called Ball Is Afterlife, which is a combined nonfiction book and memoir about grief, mythology, and basketball. In addition to my creative and sports media work, I am currently the marketing director at Artworks Trenton, a nonprofit in Trenton, New Jersey centered around bringing free and affordable art programming to our community and empowering emerging artists. When I'm not writing, editing, and running around Mercer County with my camera and my mini-mics, I can be found journaling, roller skating, making jewelry, playing video games, and eating pickled radish. Thanks for checking out my work!
